Stand Down 2018
We are out at Stand Down San Diego 2018 all weekend long!
As founders of Stand Down, Veterans Village of San Diego provides their annual 3 day, 2 night intervention program supporting more than 800 homeless veterans and their families with the dedication of 3,000 tireless and committed volunteers and more than 150 service providers.
Date: Stand Down 2018 is June 29th – July 1st
Location: San Diego High School (Upper Athletic Field)
In times of war exhausted combat units requiring time to rest and recover were removed from the battlefields to a place of relative safety and security. Other rested units assumed the watch. Today, Stand Down refers to a time when our homeless veterans can remove themselves from the combat of the streets and allow VVSD and the community of San Diego to stand the watch so they can receive needed services and rest.
If you want to volunteer, simply come out to San Diego High's athletic field at 7 AM all weekend. You can walk in and be assigned a task when you arrive.
See photos of the event and then come out to volunteer all weekend!
